Kayla Han

Public Affairs Coordinator

With a passion for advancing rural economic development and advocating for youth in rural Canadian communities, Kayla Han is a dedicated young leader working to find the common good in several sectors.

In 2020, Kayla co-founded Rural and Ready, a national non-profit organization dedicated to serving youth in rural areas by providing the opportunities, skills and information to become successful given the lack of resources and mentors in non-urban communities. In these roles, she worked with all levels of government to better serve students in a post-pandemic return-to-campus environment. She also worked in the social services sector to advocate for solutions around the growing need for housing security with MPPs across events in Toronto .

In her hometown of Ingersoll, Kayla works on diversity initiatives on the municipality’s Diversity and Inclusion Committee, targeting programs for 2SLGBTQIA+ and Indigenous communities. Kayla holds a bachelor’s degree from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ont., majoring in political science with minors in public policy and business management.

In her spare time, Kayla enjoys playing badminton and going to spin classes. She also loves to bake, specifically her famous lemon blueberry loaf.
