Tajwar leads Compass Rose’s monitoring team, providing clients with real time information and intel that is critical to helping them successfully further their advocacy and communications goals. Her strong analytical skills, the ability to deeply understand public policy nuances and her extensive experiences internationally gives her a unique advantage to keeping a laser-focused eye on Canada’s parliamentary proceedings. Joining Compass Rose four years ago, she has since become an expert in parliamentary affairs and communicating essential facts and data to clients in sectors as diverse as digital, life sciences, creative industries, health, business, agriculture, natural resources, housing, infrastructure and more.
Prior to joining Compass Rose as a Public Affairs Counsellor, Tajwar was a faculty member at Forman Christian College in Lahore, Pakistan, where she taught modern philosophy. At the Lahore School of Economics, she managed public affairs, including media relations, implementing a social media strategy and liaising with local and foreign governments. In her varied career, she also helped several non-profits in the U.S. raise their profiles through marketing, strategic communications and social media. She also worked with them to successfully apply for project and grant funding.
She is a graduate of Cornell University and obtained a masters in international relations from the University of St Andrews (Scotland) where she wrote her master’s thesis on the increase of populism around the world. During her time at Cornell, she was the executive chairperson of the University Program Board where she managed day-to-day operations and honed her project and event management expertise.
In her spare time, she enjoys playing piano.
