Compass Rose celebrates the life and legacy of Tracey Hubley by making annual donation to scholarship in her name

Compass Rose is honoured to celebrate the memory of Tracey Hubley with a donation to the Tracey J. Hubley Scholarship for Community Leadership at the University of Prince Edward Island on Giving Tuesday. Hubley was a true public policy innovator who strove to unite the Ottawa political community.

“Tracey was a good friend, as she was to many in the government relations industry,” Compass Rose principal Jacquie LaRocque said. “As a woman in this very male-dominated sector, Tracey stood out as an empathetic and strong business leader with a unique expertise. She gave so much back to the people around her, and she always had time for people.”

Hubley died in March and left a hole in the Ottawa lobbying community and a group of women on the Hill that she helped found. This University of P.E.I. scholarship will recognize a student with a strong appreciation for the power of public policy to make positive change and who has combined their academic studies and/or varsity sports with a passion for serving their community to find the common good. The first scholarship is on track to being awarded beginning in the fall of 2021.

“As Compass Rose starts its sixth year in the Ottawa and federal political landscape, we’re proud to be making this donation in Tracey’s name to help the next generation of public affairs professionals follow in her footsteps. We know we are already surrounded by others in the community in honouring her memory,” LaRocque said, adding that Compass Rose will continue to make annual donations in Hubley’s honour. “I hope our contribution to this scholarship fund can bring value to someone in the same way that Tracey deeply affected my personal career and, ultimately, the launch of my own business.”

Compass Rose is a public affairs firm where helping companies and organizations find the common good is at the core of who we are and what we do. To donate, please visit: https://go.upei.ca/donate/
