Read our latest submission to the Industry Committee

Compass Rose continues to work to provide support to clients and small businesses in Canada in an unprecedented crisis. We adapted quickly to the change in workflow, were resilient in doing so, and created a daily-updated chart of fast-breaking government supports to help clients and those in need. The government’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic has been fast, wide-reaching and flexible. In our submission to the House of Commons Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Industry (INDU) however, we highlight the concerns we have in the government's response and areas of oversight. Based on our experiences, we have recommended adjustments and additions that can be made moving forward to expand support for small-and-medium-sized businesses and other sectors that previously did not qualify or were even overlooked.

These recommendations in key areas include 1) the urgent need to support Canadians’ mental health, 2) expanding the Canadian Emergency Wage Subsidy and emergency relief for airports, ports, and the forestry sector and quickly planning for the future, and 3) removing obstacles for businesses struggling to hire students. With a receptive government committed to supporting pro-growth solutions as businesses take innovative approaches to overcome the incomparable challenges posed by this crisis, Canadians will certainly be able to overcome these difficult times resiliently.
