Compass Rose bolsters public affairs team with addition of veteran senior public servant and political advisor Louise Girouard
Girouard brings unique public affairs experience and regional lens to help clients find the common good
OTTAWA — Compass Rose is thrilled to announce that Louise Girouard, a Vancouver-based francophone who spent many years in senior government positions in Ottawa, has joined the team as a public affairs counsellor.
With three decades of experience in strategic and crisis communications, media relations, stakeholder engagement and program development in the federal government, Girouard worked on high-level policy and supported decision-makers on a diverse range of issues, including trade, natural resources and innovation.
“Louise brings another dimension to Compass Rose’s team with the national and regional lenses that we believe will be crucial to our vision and ongoing effectiveness,” said Jacquie LaRocque, Compass Rose Founder and Principal. “She will be integral to our bilingual practice and help to ensure clients find the common good by incorporating diverse perspectives from across the country, with a particular focus on Quebec and the West.”
Most recently the regional head of communications at Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO) in British Columbia, Girouard has provided policy and public relations advice to deputy ministers and worked with Conservative cabinet ministers in the energy and trade portfolios, and to senior officials at Natural Resources Canada, Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, and DFO.
