Current opportunity: Public Affairs Coordinator

The priorities for this role include: 

  • Assisting client leads and Public Affairs Counsellors in delivering superior client service.

  • Managing multiple projects and timelines to ensure they are on track.

  • Coordinating calendars, meetings, and multiple clients for efficiency and success.

You will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the client leads in creating and fostering long-term relationships with various client accounts, including key stakeholders and business executives.

  • Managing deadlines and deliverables, developing workback schedules and tracking activity in the project management software.

  • Drafting background notes, research documents, letters and emails and government submissions for clients in a variety of sectors.

  • Working with Compass Rose’s exemplary monitoring team to ensure that client priorities are captured or flagged and appropriate actions are recommended to the client.

  • Staying abreast of the Canadian political environment and trends and applying Compass Rose best practices to your work.

  • Organizing events and managing logistics. 

  • Representing the company in the #cdnpoli and business landscape.

Skills and experience required:

  • Diploma or degree in political science, public affairs, journalism, communications or a related discipline.

  • Experience working with legislators, regulatory agencies, or political campaigns, or working closely with a Senior Leadership Team.

  • Excellent writing, research and editing skills.

  • Deep attention to detail.

  • Experience with Google Workspace, project management and time-tracking software.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to think analytically and outside the box

  • Previous experience working in an agency or event planning would be valuable.

  • Bilingualism (English and French) is a strong asset.
