Compass Rose expands to include full range of French services with addition of new public affairs counsellor Godin
New minority parliament means new opportunities for clients to engage decision-makers in all parties
OTTAWA, Nov. 18, 2019— Building on the success of its cutting-edge Out Front election project and the announcement of public service veteran Yaprak Baltacioğlu joining the firm, Compass Rose principal and founder Jacquie LaRocque is excited to announce that the firm is expanding once again to include a full range of public affairs services in French.
One of the few firms in Ottawa offering a dedicated, full-scale French-language specialty, Compass Rose can now help even more organizations and businesses advance their policy priorities, especially in the context of a new minority parliament. “With so many new francophone members in this minority parliament, it will be crucial for clients to be prepared to engage decision-makers from all parties,” says LaRocque, a bilingual Franco-Ontarian who has looked at federal public policy from all vantage points for more than two decades. “It’s why I’m also happy to announce that veteran francophone journalist Linda Godin has joined our team.”
Francophone expertise, insight and analysis
In addition to LaRocque, francophone clients will benefit from Godin’s analysis and strategic planning expertise, as well as speech writing, media and government relations, among others, that English clients have come to rely on.
A former Ottawa bureau chief for Groupe Média TFO and most recently educational projects and outreach lead at Cable Public Affairs Channel (CPAC), Godin brings more than 20 years of experience in public affairs, journalism and strategic planning to the Compass Rose team.
“I am very happy to join this passionate team of public affairs counsellors working toward the common good. I look forward to working hard to find solutions to the challenges facing our clients and country,” says Godin, a bilingual New Brunswick native with extensive experience in analyzing national issues through a francophonie lens.
“Linda’s experience reinforces our firm’s strength — a seasoned team of public affairs specialists, strategic analysts, former senior government officials and journalists with unsurpassed knowledge of public policy and communications,” says LaRocque.
