Next Liberal leader needs to focus on rebuilding, Surkes tells Wells

Chief Strategy Officer Marci Surkes was the featured guest on Paul Wells’ recent podcast to talk about modern Liberal Party history, which she’s been a part of since 2007. She spoke about Trudeau’s resignation, what the next leader needs to do and the turbulent political landscape facing the party.

“I hope that they are as clear eyed as I think most liberals are about the prospects and that they are not coming in to think it's a quick win. That would be the worst case scenario. They have to be in it to rebuild and understand where we are and what Canadians are looking for in terms of leadership that has changed. It has changed over the course of the decade. And that's why I think it's the normal course of things that Canadians choose different governments every 10 years or so,” she said.
